Leonard Cohen, Donald Trump and so forth.

Leonard Cohen died today. I don't really know how to feel about it. He never really was on my radar except when he came up with stuff like Hallelujah and Suzanne. He seemed like he had a major depressive disorder but man, did he know how to use it!! In related news, Memphis' new Kroger on Union had a breakout Flash Mob Leonard Cohen tribute in the produce section today featuring the Memphis Symphony and many older people who probably knew who Leonard Cohen was. The was a fellow I noted who was intent on getting his avocados and paid the singers in the Flash Mob no attention what so ever.

It's just funny what can happen in a day.

Take for instance this election. People are convinced we are going to die from the Donald being president. I don't think that's going to happen, but we have to wait and see now. Just like we did for Obama, and all the rest. I voted for Obama because I like him as a person and speaker. Those are probably not reasons to vote for someone. I do not like Donald Trump as a person or a man. He is rude, crude and arrogant. Just the things I don't like about people. Sarcasm is not my thing. Stirring up anger and pushing intolerant agendas are against what I stand for. I love people and they love me back. I usually don't even see color, or religion unless my attention is called to it. I like to think I have an open mind and good heart. I rebelled against my parent's ideas about race and their place and all that old rhetoric.  But apparently there a lot of people who don't see things my way. Someone who voted for him today told me to give him a chance, that maybe this election will reset the norm. I said well i don't think I have a choice. It's not like they are going to let  us go, " hey, we want a do over. "

Now everyone needs the strength to break out of the trance of the digital age and defibrillate your brain because our youth is flat lining in their craniums.  Adults, too. We ARE sheeple. I do see this as the big wake up call for all of America to wake up and realize we have got to get involved. In our children, in our community, in our city, state and country. We are lackadaisical and easily intimidated with all the political jibber jabber, and that is what they want. To baffle us with bullshit while they steal us blind. More on this later.

On a good note, the dogs got baths, I have off the next two saturdays and fun will be had.
We shall be happy and sing bawdy songs and drink fruity drinks.

Later, taters.....

What the fuck?

Is going on?
The world has gone crazy.
I know, I know my parents said essentially the same thing back in the 60's when their world was going crazy with all the black people getting upset over civil rights and the young people rising up and protesting the Vietnam war among other things such as the ESTABLISHMENT.
Ok..Wait...i think its happening all over again.
My momma always said shit comes back around in style,  and all this time I thought she was talking about style  as in clothing and shoes.
And it seems old Charlie Manson was right after all. Helter Skelter. Whodathunkit?
As for White Privilege
I want to say this. If i have "white privilege", its beyond me.What is it? some invisible forcefield surrounding me? If I do, I want to be sure everyone else knows it hasn't protected me at all from Lifes Bullshit and Woe. I have no idea if I get special treatment, because I try to stay clear of the police. If one pulls me over ( less often now than when I drove a fast car) I keep my hands on the wheel till he tells me to move them. I keep my mouth shut and just take the ticket. Most of the time I was driving too fast. Or had  let my tags expire. Or both.
Once I was driving fast away from my house because I was mad at my husband and when that cop pulled me over I burst out crying before I realized i was going to. He still gave me the ticket but he made sure I hadn't been hit or hurt. I have learned to slow down and use my cruise control and it has saved me a lot of money in tickets.

More commentary on World events to come.

We have Helter Skelter over here, and  Dr. Evil Takes Over the World over there.

Raleigh woman says, "I hear the locusts whirring and the squirrel fell into the pool. Its the sign we have been waiting for. "

59 and holding on for dear life....

Joel Z Williams and how poor people can fight bedbugs, the Missouri method.

V is for Vector

Another southern summer in full swing, yet this morning is rare, july 25 and the air is breezy and zero humidity. Its almost like being in the country because of  the incessant hissing of cicadas and frogs I cannot hear the traffic and other city noises. Just the whirring of nature as they build a crescendo then it subsides only to build again. The breeze gently plays with my windchime and loans a zen quality to the sound as my elephant ears nod lazily in the sun.
A nice start anyway. So I brought my tea out here to enjoy it while it lasts.

It never lasts.

You see, my house is a toxic wasteland of pesticides as I battle yet another Vector. This time- the bedbug.
It seems we have them. Still. Again.
The $400.00 treatment didn't work.
The brand new mattresses and box springs didn't work.

If you remember last summer it was fruitflys also known as drainflys.
And the summer before that, It was lice. Then roaches. Then fleas. Then spiders.
I am a Vector magnet
Victor Vector.

It's amazing what you learn along the way in life. The main thing I have learned is that there alot more insects in the world than people. We are outnumbered. They have power in numbers and evolution. And we are a snack. That is the long and short of it.

I believe I poisoned myself a little yestereday in my zeal to eridicate the little buggers, I might have got a little carried away with the spray and the foggers.

And upon returing home from the 2 hour required stay away time, I opened the door and two adults were sitting on the cover of the mattress waiting on me to get close so they could "fall" on me and suck my blood. They weren't even stunned. I got pissed off then and attacked them with my last bit of spray completely covering them with a dollop of foam.

My vision is blurry due to the toxicity of my house and these happy fuckers just keep on keepin on.

In desperation, I googled other methods. In my searching I found a fellow named Joel Z Williams.

I hope you enjoy him as much as I did. Now excuse me while i go get some dry ice and clorox.
